Nabeela Bibi, a 20-year-old Christian woman, along with her family, was trapped in the cycle of slavery in Pakistan: Nabeela and her family of seven worked day and night to pay off their debt. However, despite their hard work, their debt only grew, preventing them from experiencing freedom.

Younis Masih, Nabeela’s father, borrowed 15,000 PKR for his father’s medical treatment. Over the years, this debt increased to 570,000 PKR. Alongside their bondage, the family faced religious persecution and torture.

As Christians and impoverished laborers, they were subjected to even harsher treatment. Their suffering took a horrifying turn when the kiln manager sexually assaulted Nabeela. Although she refused his advances, the manager repeatedly assaulted her. When her father tried to report this to the kiln owner, Muhammad Shoukat, he was brutally beaten and threatened with death if he continued to pursue a complaint against Shoukat.

Later, Shoukat began pressuring Nabeela to marry him and convert to Islam. The family attempted to arrange her marriage and asked the kiln owner for permission to send her to her brother’s home in Rawalpindi. However, the owner refused, demanding full repayment of their debt before allowing her to leave.

The pressure from the kiln owner and manager grew unbearable for this persecuted family. But God had a plan to rescue them. A local pastor heard of their plight and informed our ECSPE rescue team, who immediately began planning to free them.

According to our plan, we rescued the family from the kiln within days and relocated them to a safe place with a new job and home. Thank God the family is now free, and Nabeela is safe from her former life of misery.

Christian Trapped In Slavery:

Thousands of Christians in Pakistan remain trapped in modern-day slavery, forced to work in conditions that strip them of freedom and dignity. Many of these families are indebted to wealthy landowners and factory managers, often borrowing small amounts for medical treatments or essential needs, only to see their debts balloon over time.

These Christians, including women and children, are subjected to relentless labor, persecution, and, in many cases, abuse. They endure this daily hardship with little hope of escape, as their faith and poverty make them particularly vulnerable to exploitation. The need for support and intervention is urgent to break this cycle and help these families find freedom and a chance for a new life.
