While the world focuses on border conflicts and political unrest, God is at work transforming hearts and communities, fulfilling the words of Isaiah 55:11 — “So shall My word be that goes out from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose.”

The Northeastern Surge: The Seven Sister States

The Seven Sister States—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura—have long-standing Christian communities, particularly among tribal populations. Today, in states like Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, over 87% of the population boldly profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, the Christian faith is either the leading or second most practiced religion, testifying to God’s growing Kingdom.

This is not just a historical outcome—it is a living testimony of revival. Entire villages and tribal communities have turned to Christ, echoing Acts 16:31 — “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” The power of the Gospel has particularly resonated with Dalits and marginalized groups, offering a message of dignity, hope, and freedom from the oppressive caste system—reminding us of Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

In the land of Punjab, known for its spiritual diversity and resilience, a powerful movement is unfolding. Although the 2011 Census recorded only 1.26% Christians, recent estimates now place the figure at over 20%—a tremendous harvest of souls. Among the Dalit communities such as Mazhabi Sikhs and Valmiki Hindus, many are finding new life in Christ, fulfilling Matthew 11:28 — “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Why Are People Turning to Christ?

1. Escape from Caste-Based Discrimination

Despite constitutional rights, oppression based on caste continues, leaving many in despair. The Gospel offers spiritual and social liberation. Through Christ, believers find their true identity—not as outcasts, but as children of God (John 1:12).

2. The Preaching of the Word

The rejection of witchcraft, sorcery, and idolatry—once widespread—is now happening in thousands of homes as people realize these practices are demonic and destructive. Despite vandalism, violence, and threats from radical groups, the Church in India continues to stand firm, holding fast to 2 Timothy 3:12 — “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

What is happening in the Seven Sister States and Punjab is not merely a demographic shift—it is a move of God. The Good News of Jesus Christ is setting captives free, healing broken families, and uniting communities under the banner of the cross.
