As soon as the October 7th attacks by Hamas terrorists were reported in the world media, with proof of the atrocities that were published by the terrorists themselves all over social media, many members and staff of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Work Agency) celebrated and justified it on Facebook. Here are just a few of the celebrants :
UNWRA’s Staff: Celebrating Terrorism And Fueling Conflict
UNRWA Gaza teacher Osama Ahmed posted, “Allah is Great, Allah is Great, reality surpasses our wildest dreams.”
UNRWA principal Iman Hassan justified the massacre as “restoring rights” and “redressing” Palestinian “grievances.”
Rawia Helles, Director of the Khan Younis Training Center and featured in a UNRWA video, glorified one of the terrorists as a “hero,” raider,” and “prince of Khan Younis.”
English teacher of UNRWA school Asmaa Rafiq Kuheil excitedly called to “sculpture the date,” adding a heart emoji.
School Administer of UNRWA school Hmada Ahmed posted, “Welcome to the great October.”
At least 20 people, all UNRWA employees, have been exposed as supporting the October 7th massacre.
UNRWA-sponsored schools use textbooks that, if you care to review, you might think came straight out of Nazi Germany. This has been the case for decades, and most, if not all, of the terrorists who carried out the attacks on October 7th were educated in these schools. Hospitals in Gaza, which is another main focus of UNRWA work, have proven again to fall short as Hamas has used these hospitals as military barracks and weapon storage facilities.
UN Watch Exposes UNRWA: Unveiling Controversies and Questionable Practices
All of the above has been established by UN Watch (unwatch.org) in their research, which is an NGO based in Geneva. It proves that UNRWA is not an organization that acts in good faith, and in our view, based on their research, the leadership in the Secretariat of the UN is fully aware of and supports the sinister agenda of UNRWA. The nations who are members of the UN, all the countries of the world but one which is the Vatican, are also aware, but for political reasons or sheer hatred of Israel, this agenda has been allowed to continue. This is plain and obvious as immediately after the October 7th massacre, no UN resolution was made to condemn Hamas, but as per usual, resolutions against Israel were quick in being proclaimed as soon as the Jews started to defend themselves.
UNRWA is one of the major contributors to the sustaining of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Let us examine this charge with evidence.
First, UNRWA was set up as a refugee agency in December 1949. About a month later, UNHCR (UN High Commission for Refugees) was founded in January 1950. UNRWA gave refugee status to Arabs who lived in Mandate Palestine and their descendants to a permanent state of statelessness; seventy-six years later, no Arab refugee has been granted citizenship in other countries by this agency by contrast, UNHCR has relocated millions of refugees caused by most wars since 1950.
Why is there such a difference in policy? Simple, it is the same war against the Jews by the UN (world) as it is by the Arabs. There is no reason for the conflict if there are no refugees. Let us also remember nearly one million Jews were expelled from Arab countries in an act of retribution by the Arab League countries after the founding of Israel in 1948. Jews were stripped of all their property, businesses, and money and were forced to leave these countries with just the shirts on their backs. The UNHCR nor UNRWA lifted a finger to help these Jews. The world again stood silent and did nothing to help. Again, there was no UN resolution to condemn such policies by Arab countries. The original Arab refugees who fled the 1948 war were around 600,000. If the world saw this conflict with balance, then each side (Arab countries and Israel) should take care of its own refugees. Remember that in 1948, there was no desire to create a “Palestinian State” but only to destroy the Jewish state. This is still the aim of the Arabs, especially those who call themselves Palestinian.
Arab-Israeli Conflict: And Misuse of Billions in International Aid
The damage that UNRWA has done to regional and world peace is insurmountable. What is even a greater crime is the world, including the USA, has contributed multiple billions of dollars since Hamas took overpower in Gaza. Most of the money has gone to pay the 30,000 people who work for UNRWA, which almost all are local Arabs and include mostly Hamas members, especially in Gaza, but little for the people in need. This figure of 30,000 employees is outlandish; to put this in perspective, the New York City UN headquarters has only 6500 employees. UNRWA is just a way of lining the pockets of the Hamas organization, financed by the taxpayers of many Western countries and institutions.
In 2022, the USA provided $344 million, Germany $202 million, $114 million by the EU, 61million from Sweden, $34 million from Norway, $29 million from France, $25 million from Switzerland, $24 million from Canada, $21 million from the UK and $21 million from the Netherlands.
If these countries were to stop financing this corrupt terror-supporting agency, We would suggest the conflict would come to a very quick end. There is evidence to support this idea, as when President Trump removed all funds to UNRWA, the Abrahamic accords were successful in bringing peace to some of the nations that were hostile to Israel.
