1st  August – Pakistan:  Hindu woman, victim of abduction, rape and forced conversion was denied justice, Pakistani Police in Thatta, Sindh, refused to register an FIR (First information recorded )against the abductors.

On 29th July, 2016 , a 30 years old Hindu woman revealed in the press conference that she was abducted ,raped and then forced into the prostitution after being converted to Islam in Thatta, Sindh. Furtherly she stated in her press conference that “ the Police is reluctant to register an FIR against the culprits” The human rights group supporting the victim is also been found helpless in this situation as police and local Sindh Administration is supporting those elements which are forcing Christians and Hindu girls to convert to Islam after being raped .

Since last 2 decades, every year around 1000 girls were forced to convert after abduction and rape, and even in some occasions it has been observed that the Muslim Landlords, or political personals were involved in snatching the minority girls and woman.

She kept on stating that when she went to file the complaint against her abductors, neither local police nor their heads took her complaint seriously. Moreover when she went to the higher officials of Police, they also sexually harassed her.

While speaking the press conference she added “ She caught in this situation in 2008 when she get familiar with a  Muslim resident of Mirpur Sakro . He abducted her outside of her home and took her to an unknown place where he raped her for 20 days. Then her abductor Shahbaz sold her in Nawabshah where she was indulged into the fake marriage with Javed Khaskheli .

Javed forcibly converted her to Islam and then forced her into the prostitution business. As per law Prostitution is a serious crime in Pakistan whereas when this Hindu Woman told the police and showed the evidences they are refusing to take any action against the whole network.

She stated “ I tried to escape twice in result of which she was burnt and admitted to the hospital in Nawabshah and later to the CMH hospital Hyderabad .

After living six  years in Hyderabad in captivity, one day she was successful in escaping from there to  her home in Thatta.

Police was purportedly not willingly to register the case against the abductors told by the Advocate Zia Awan . Whereas Thatta police’s persistence that the case didn’t fall in their jurisdiction therefore they need to go to the  Mirpur Sakro, the Station house officer of Mirpur Sakro also refused to register the case .
