Merab Faryad

Today, we are sharing another story of Christian Persecution in Pakistan, a young Christian girl, Merab, and her family, who were trapped in a cycle of slavery. Faryad Masih and his family have worked since before his children’s birth. Merab was the second of four children.

Their world was shattered when Merab, a 15-year-old girl, was brutally assaulted by the very people entrusted with their safety: the security guard and the kiln manager.

The Horrific Incident:

The incident occurred when Faryad and his wife traveled to another city to attend the funeral of their close relative. Finding that Merab, their young daughter, was alone at home while the other siblings were working at the kiln, the kiln manager and guard forcibly entered their house. They dragged the helpless girl into another room and brutally raped her. Thereafter, they threatened the young Merab to keep her mouth shut, or else they would kill her and her entire family.

The Deafening Silence:

Drowned by fear for the lives of her loved ones, Merab kept quiet about the traumatic ordeal. Eventually, she had to inform her parents that she suspected she was pregnant. Upon examination, it was confirmed that the young Merab was indeed pregnant.

The family became overwhelmed with worry about the situation, as their young daughter had her entire life ahead of her, and this misery could potentially destroy her future.

A Ray of Hope

Fortunately, our organization, ECSPE, had already planned to rescue the Christian families from that same kiln, where we had another victim, Rukhsana, who was also raped and tortured. Our team comforted the family and informed them that very soon, we would be rescuing them from this slavery.

We rescued all the Christian families and moved them to a safe place where we provided them with new houses, jobs, and better lives.

Listen to her story;

Pro-Life Believer:

We are a pro-life believer; the biggest challenge was how to convince a family to allow the child to come into this world. Initially, the mother, Nasreen, requested an abortion for her daughter and sought help from us. This was challenging for our team and board, as we are pro-life believers. Our pastor was convincing the mother that, as Christians, we cannot entertain the thought of killing an innocent child who is faultless. He emphasized that every life is precious and sacred in the eyes of God and that we must protect and nurture the unborn child, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the conception.

Thank God, the family eventually understood. Now, Merab and her family have been moved to another place where she will stay until her delivery. We request that you all keep her in your prayers.
