The abduction and forced conversion of Christian girls in Pakistan remains a severe human rights issue. Once again, our team has proven to be the best in rescuing Christian girls from abductors. On October 8th, 2024, we successfully rescued Alina Imran, and today she is safely with her family after two and a half months of struggle. We thank our readers, supporters, and all those who prayed for her safe return.

Alina’s Abduction and Forced Conversion:

Alina Imran, a Christian girl from Bahira Town, Islamabad, was abducted on July 28, 2024, by a meat vendor named Muhammad Rizwan and three accomplices. They forcibly took her to a farmhouse in the Sargodha district owned by an influential Muslim landlord. Despite the filing of an FIR, no immediate action was taken by the police, who instead supported the claims of Rizwan that Alina had willingly converted to Islam and married him. The marriage certificate presented to the authorities was fraudulent, with the date listed as July 22, 2024—before her actual abduction.

A Legal Battle Begins: Attempts at Negotiation:

The abduction of Alina was not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern in Pakistan, where Christian and Hindu girls are often targeted for forced conversion and marriage. Her family, with the support of our organization ECSPE (Emergency Committee to Save the Persecuted and Enslaved), refused to give up. Despite setbacks in the lower court, where their initial petition was dismissed, the ECSPE team and Alina’s parents continued to fight.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Rizwan had taken Alina to a farmhouse owned by Muhammad Tanveer Talla, an influential landlord notorious for enslaving families. Alina was subjected to severe physical and emotional abuse by Rizwan and his family, who threatened her life if she attempted to escape. The landlord even declared he would cut her into pieces if she made another escape attempt.

In our efforts to rescue Alina, the ECSPE team sought negotiation with the powerful farmhouse owner. Despite pressure from influential friends, the owner demanded a ransom of one million Pakistani Rupees for Alina’s release. While ECSPE considered multiple approaches, they remained committed to following a legal path, refusing to resort to extralegal means.

The Breakthrough: A Heart-Wrenching Rescue

On the brink of losing hope, ECSPE filed a new petition with the Additional Sessions Judge in Bhalwal. This time, we obtained a court order directing the police to recover Alina and bring her before the court the following morning. The decisive moment came when the ECSPE team, lawyer Rana Muhammad Abdullah, Alina’s parents, and police officials raided the farmhouse.

As the police arrived, Alina, battered but alive, ran towards her parents and collapsed in tears. It was an emotional moment for everyone involved as the long and painful ordeal finally ended. Alina was immediately taken into police custody for her protection.

And today, the court ruled in favor of Alina’s family, returning her to her parents. Our team wasted no time in moving the family to a secure location, ensuring that Alina was now safe and far from her captors.
